Lancaster University’s MedSoc organise Shrek panto to raise money for youth charity
The performance is scheduled for next Sunday 8th December 2024
Lancaster University’s Medicine Society has organised an on-campus pantomime to raise money for youth charity, Streetlife, this Christmas.
Shrek, The Panto will be organised, directed and performed by medical students at the university.
The show is scheduled for next Sunday 8th December 2024 at 6pm in the Jack Hylton room, with tickets on sale for £3.50.
MedSoc members can buy tickets via the Society app, whilst non-members can contact MedSoc on Instagram to reserve a ticket. Buying tickets at the door will work on a first come first serve basis and is not guaranteed.
All proceeds will go towards Streetlife.
MedSoc regularly raise money for this organisation, with their exec having taken part in an overnight sleep-out in Blackpool earlier this year.
Their Christmas panto is a yearly tradition and has been organised by their charity officers, Becky Owen and Kosha Chauhan.
When asked about the panto, Kosha told the Lancaster Tab: “We’re incredibly proud of our cast, who have worked so hard to bring the show together, and a special shoutout to MedSoc Dance for their fantastic number!
“It’s an annual tradition of Lancaster University MedSoc to put on a Christmas pantomime and raise money for Blackpool Streetlife, a charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people in the Blackpool area. They provide emergency accommodation, guidance, and emotional support, helping young people get back on their feet and build brighter futures.
As the charity officers, Becky and I are so excited to see it all come together!”
If you would like to donate further to Streetlife, MedSoc have organised a Just Giving page here.
