They need to survive without phones, but who’s got the most Insta followers going into the jungle?
Shockingly, GK Barry is not number one
I’m a Celeb is almost here, and with it, a boatload of British talent who might struggle to pull themselves away from their millions of followers on Instagram as they ditch their phones for personal conversations around the campfire.
The 2024 I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here cast is stacked with notable names like Danny Jones, Maura Higgins, and Coleen Rooney. Perhaps one of the most captivating moments of the ITV show is watching celebrities slowly realize they won’t have the access and amenities they are used to.
With follower counts ranging from 1,500 to 3.8 million, which members of the I’m a Celeb cast will struggle to pull themselves away from adoring fans the most?
12. Barry McGuigan
Coming in dead last with just 1,500 Instagram followers is former professional boxer turned promoter Barry McGuigan. With his oldest post just two days old, Barry is obviously setting up his fanbase HQ for the duration of the reality TV show.
11. Reverend Richard Coles
When he’s not doing the lord’s work, writer and Church of England priest Reverend Richard Coles can be found on Instagram with 18k followers. He hasn’t posted on the site since 2017, and considering the lack of I’m a Celeb branding, it doesn’t look like his team will be updating it during the show.
10. Dean McCullough
Radio presenter Dean McCullough is an Instagram pro with just over 38k followers and enough Instagram highlights to keep your social media addiction satiated for days.
9. Melvin Odoom
Most Read
BBC Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom boasts 123k followers on Instagram where he usually posts content about his job, personal life, and the many star-studded events he attends.
8. Jane Moore
After years on ITV’s Loose Women, Jane Moore has amassed 169k followers on Instagram so here’s to hoping her time in the I’m a Celeb jungle takes her over the 170k threshold!
7. Alan Halsall
Alan Halsall might be a beloved part of Coronation Street, but if you told me he was racking up more followers than some Love Island contestants, I wouldn’t believe you. But that’s just the case with 243k followers and counting.
6. Tulisa Contostavlos
Despite somewhat stepping out of the spotlight for a number of years, Tulisa has kept her 649k followers updated on her life with pictures you’d expect from the singer. Think Kim Kardashian’s social media, only British.
5. Danny Jones
As a member of McFly and now a judge on The Voice, Danny Jones is no stranger to adoring fans and social media attention. One look at his Instagram comments suggests his 709k followers are going to miss his updates.
4. Oti Mabuse
Coming just after Danny is a professional dancer Oti Mabuse with 718k followers backing her I’m a Celeb journey. Fans have loved her vibrant energy on shows like Strictly Come Dancing, and her Instagram is no different.
3. GK Barry
Influencer and podcast host GK Barry, real name Grace Eleanor Keeling, shockingly comes in third place despite her job literally being social media. Still, I don’t have 879k followers on Instagram, so who am I to judge?
2. Colleen Rooney
Colleen Rooney has been a staple in British pop culture for years so it’s not particularly surprising she has one million followers on Instagram. Some of them are undoubtedly waiting for the next chapter of Wagatha Christie.
1. Maura Higgins
You know her, you love her, and sometimes you can’t understand her, it’s Love Island’s Maura Higgins. Considering the stunning makeup looks, drop-dead gorgeous outfits, and comebacks that leave grown men crying, are you surprised she has the most amount of fans with 3.8 million Instagram followers?
If you miss Maura’s face on your screen on Sunday, be content with knowing she will be a late addition to the show.
