All the signs we missed that Ross and Sacha from MAFS UK were wrong for each other from the start
They’re both a Sagittarius. It was never going to work
Ross and Sacha’s relationship started off like a fairy tale. A MAFS UK couple who were legit well-matched? What a rarity! But now we know that (spoiler alert) the couple split soon after the experiment, it’s hard not to think back to all the moments which foretold the couple wouldn’t work out.
So, here are all the signs you probably missed that Ross and Sacha from MAFS UK 2024 were just wrong for each other from the start.
They don’t resolve conflict well
Even the experts managed to finally cotton on in the last commitment ceremony to the fact that Ross and Sacha weren’t so good at sorting out disagreements. Ross and Sacha are both really passionate people prone to speaking before thinking. Like, a miscommunication at a dinner party which we didn’t even see on screen escalated until Sacha barred Ross from their flat for several days.
Back when pretty much everyone was arguing with Alex at once, neither Ross or Sacha coped super well. We completely get why Sacha got flustered when Alex was having a go at her for apparently having cheap jewellery (?). But the whole incident suggested that navigating conflict calmly doesn’t come naturally to either of them.
Before the reunion dinner party, Sacha hinted that although she was still super into Ross, they’d had a few more arguments which had challenged their relationship.
She said on the show, “Ross promised in his final vows that he’d move to Walsall straight away. And – I don’t know, it’s so difficult…
“I can’t pretend that things have been perfect. We’re both fiery and we’ve had some huge rows.”

Ross said, “Every relationship argues, but at the end of the day, we work on it and it makes us stronger.”
The not-so-long distance
Yes, I know that Sacha’s house in Walsall isn’t really that far from where Ross lives in Manchester. Google Maps says you can make it in an hour and a half. This is literally less time than my commute to work.
But the fact that the distance between them kept coming up in the show way more than it did for other couples kind of indicates that this was a big issue for the couple. Maybe they’re both such busy people – Ross has a daughter, and Sacha seems to volunteer for like a hundred different charities – that the travel time is quite a problem for them?
Sacha was concerned about his angry behaviour
Honestly, fair enough. Arguing is one thing. Throwing food on the wall and dramatically chucking your wedding ring across the room is another.
Sacha clarified that the main reason she and her parents were wary of her moving to Manchester was that she was worried that if Ross got angry about something again, she’d be stuck in Manchester with no other friends to lean on. She wrote on her Instagram story, “The issue was number one, Ross’s temper. I didn’t want to move to Manchester because of Ross’s temper.”
Ross told The Tab, “Yeah I’m annoyed about the word temper! Temper can be millions of things so she just needs to be clear on that.”
They’re just a bit too similar
Okay, don’t come at me for this argument. I know some people are like, “Omg, I love my spouse so much because they’re exactly like me! They’re literally my twin!” But I swear a lot of the people who think that either have egotistical traits or are Siblings or Dating? candidates or are both and are a Game of Thrones character.
As a general rule, couples work better in the long term when they complement each other’s personalities instead of mirroring them. Ross and Sacha had instant chemistry because of their similarities – they both enjoy kickboxing, and are very family-orientated. But it was also their similarities that caused the biggest issues. Their mutual feistiness made minor communication issues blow up into massive rows.
Guys, they’re both a Saggitarius. It was literally written in the stars that they were never going to work.
