Grotesquerie bad ending

Um, the Grotesquerie finale was so bad it’s being deemed one of the worst endings ever

‘That was the most disappointing ending… Ryan Murphy when I catch you’

| UPDATED

I was enjoying Grotesquerie. Dare I say, I was loving Grotesquerie. Finally, after years of Ryan Murphy messy shows it felt like he’d kind of got a new lease of life. Here was a mysterious but intriguing show with reveals that seemingly had good pay off. But after the big twist around episode seven that revealed so much and posed even more questions about the plot, and following the exposition heavy last few episodes there was a lot of pressure on the finale of Grotesquerie to wrap things up. Spoiler alert: It failed. Grotesquerie is getting slammed for having an ending so bad it’s being branded one of the worst ever.

So, how did the show get it so wrong? IMDb and social media have all been blasting the bad ending to Grotesquerie, so here’s why it’s so bad and the fumes people have had towards the messy and brain-aching conclusion.

What actually happened?

Redd reveals she knows Lois’ husband Marshall is sleeping around, and then his students accuse him of assaulting them. With the accusations hitting him, Marshall tries to take his own life. Travis Kelce’s character Ed stops him and invites him to this intel-y men group that are anti women’s rights and pushing back on #MeToo. A load of the men in Lois’ life attend, including Dr Charlie (played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez).

A load of stuff goes down, where Lois doubts she’s even alive and just as the big reveal comes and we’re about to find out who the killer is, we head to the office to find out. And… the episode ends. In short, the show never tells us who did the murders. It might not get renewed and we literally might never know.

IMDb is dragging

The Grotesquerie finale has a woeful score of 4.4/10 on IMDb, easily the lowest of the entire season. People are furious. One scathing review says “How could episode 10 be the season finale? It made no sense, didn’t answer and questions.. I love the show, loved the drama when Lois was in a coma. Then you end the season with an episode that resolves or concludes NOTHING. Wow, now I’m just confused and don’t know what to say or think about what I just watched. I want answers, I was more. How can such an amazing show with incredible actors end like this?! I wish the ending went out with a bang as the beginning came in with! It didn’t even end with a cliff hanger, it ended like you would learn more next week…. BUT THIS IS THE SEASON FINALE! What in the world?!”

Social media is fuming

Obviously, people are not happy.

Like, it was all going so well. Too well.

Better luck next time, I guess, eh, Ryan?
