Marissa from Love Is Blind backpedals and defends Ramses after birth control argument

Marissa girl don’t make excuses for him

| UPDATED

I think we all cried with Marissa from Love Is Blind after watching her dramatic breakup argument with Ramses in the season seven finale. It felt very out of nowhere, but Ramses actually had a lot of bright red flags from before the relationship came to an end. After the show aired, Marissa appeared on The Viall Files and had a lot of negative things to say about Ramses, in particular their conversation around birth control. But, she’s since she’s taken to her Instagram story to defend the hate against him, and backpedaled on a lot of the points she made.

On the podcast, she opened up about how she felt “p*ssed off” and “really annoyed” at Ramses during their intimacy discussions because she was already “carrying the weight of the wedding planning” as well as being in law school and having an autoimmune disease flare-up.

“As a woman, you’re kind of conditioned at times to deal with guys like that… just another guy wanting to be physically affectionate with me. I’m shocked that I’m not more shocked,” she said.

Despite Marissa condemning him for saying sex “just doesn’t feel as good” with a condom, she jumped to defend him on her Instagram story, saying that he tried to “approach sensitive conversations with empathy” but a lot of it “didn’t make it on screen.”

“Rams may not always get it right, but he consistently tries to approach sensitive conversations with empathy. Although his initial comments in that conversation didn’t sit well with me, we easily reached an understanding after talking off-camera,” she wrote.

So, if Ramses refused to wear a condom, how did they actually protect themselves? Marissa explained that she instead used a “tracking-my-cycle” method that she’s “relied on for years.” Girl, I swear they told us in school this shouldn’t even count as protection.

“Rams downloaded the Flo app and synced it with mine to share the responsibility of tracking my fertility window. If I’d set a boundary around protection, he would have respected it. Just want to make sure that’s clear,” she pressed.

Despite saying this now, Marissa told host Nick Viall that there were times where her boundaries “weren’t being respected” by Ramses. What a switch up.
