Surprise! Leo from Love Is Blind has made an entire video about the story behind his Rolex

Did you know he’s an art dealer with a Rolex?

| UPDATED

Leo from Love Is Blind was widely regarded as the villain of season seven: He’s had more than his fair share of insane moments. From lashing out at Hannah to telling Brittany she’s his “close number two,” he’s made a very unpopular name for himself. However, the biggest part of his personality had to be his obsession with his Rolex, which he bought with his art dealer salary, just in case you didn’t know.

Since the show has been on Netflix, Leo has actually humbled himself and realised he spoke about his Rolex way too much. While it’s nice to see character development, he’s started to lean into this alter ego a little too much. He’s posted a whole TikTok explaining the story behind his iconic staple, which is apparently “one hell” of a tale.

In a TikTok nobody asked for, Leo delves into the lore behind the golden Rolex featured on Love Is Blind, which is valued at $15,000. He tells viewers it’s a 1985 Presidential Day date Rolex, and the reason the price tag is so high is because there’s a small insignia on the back, but he couldn’t explain more because he’s “an art guy, not a watch guy.”

He also admits that watch fans will come for him because “it’s not even that nice of a Rolex,” which actually made me cringe. But, don’t worry – it’s only his “fourth nicest watch.”

He then explains that he loves this particular golden Rolex the most because it’s a “family heirloom” with a crazy family story behind it.

Hitting back at people who criticised him for showing off, he says that “a lot of the Rolex talk you heard in the pods was when we were talking about our families.”

If you don’t want to watch his near-five minute explanation of the history of the Rolex, here’s a summary: His great grandfather travelled to England when he was 12 and made a small living for himself as an upholsterer despite having a wealthy uncle in Philadelphia. He had a son (Leo’s grandfather) who made money as an art dealer, and bought him the Rolex in question. I didn’t know you could be an art dealer nepo baby, but you learn something new every day.

He then brings out a hammer that his great grandfather used to own and says he loves to wear the Rolex and put up paintings with it. Apparently it’s a “damn good hammer.” He kisses the hammer and said “this is my heart right here.”

He ends the video admitting that he still looks like “an asshole” on the show wearing the Rolex, but it reminds him of his family history. There you go folks!
