19 year old British student who died after she fell from balcony in Ibiza has been pictured
Tributes paid to Emma Ramsay say she was ‘hardworking’ and ‘incredibly kind’
A British law student who fell to her death from a balcony whilst on holiday in Ibiza has been named and pictured as 19-year-old Emma Ramsay.
Emma Ramsay, who was a student reading Law at Strathclyde University, fell from the sixth floor balcony of Hotel Vibra District in San Antonio, Ibiza. Prior to the “tragic, accidental fall”, Emma had been filmed partying with her friends and enjoying what the island has to offer. She was a former head girl at her high school in her hometown of Hamilton in South Lanarkshire.
Her former headteacher, Lorna Lawson, paid tribute to Emma in a statement: “We are shocked and saddened at the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of our former Head Girl, Emma Ramsay. Emma was an incredibly kind, hardworking, bright and talented pupil who contributed a great deal to our school community.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Emma will be missed and will forever hold a special place in our school.”
A tribute has also been paid to Emma by her friend Paris McGoldrick, who wrote online: “I don’t even know where to begin with how perfect our Emma was. I loved everything about you and I forever will. Heaven just gained the most beautiful angel they will ever get and I’m forever grateful to call you my friend.
“I will forever cherish the moments we shared together, Em. I love you forever my girl, you will never be forgotten.”
The Spanish civil guard is currently investigating the death.
