So, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s life has been a bit of a whirlwind since leaving prison. She moved in with her husband, broke UP with her husband, got a nose job and got back with her ex all in the space of a few months. But who is Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s new boyfriend Ken Urker who also happens to be her ex?

He’s from Texas

Ken was born and raised in Texas and went to school in Dallas before going to college. Until reuniting with Gypsy Rose, Ken Urker kept a low profile and wasn’t on social media. As a result, there is little known about his career except for records showing him living in multiple different states after college, including stays in Florida, Washington, and California.

He wrote to Gypsy Rose in prison after watching her Mommy Dead and Dearest documentary

Just like how Ryan, Gypsy’s ex-husband, and her met, Ken met Gypsy after writing to her in prison.

Speaking with E! News in 2019, Gypsy Rose revealed that Ken first contacted her after watching the HBO documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest.

After he wrote her a “letter of support,” she said they started writing back and forth on a weekly basis. “We became fast friends,” she said. “It was pretty soon after that that we started talking on the phone. We would spend hours on the phone. I talked to him like I had known him my whole life and vice versa.”

He kissed her the first time they met in person

It wasn’t long after they began writing to each other that she sent him a visitation form to visit her in prison. “He came and it was kind of a funny story but within the first thirty minutes he leaned over and gave me the most wonderful kiss of my whole life,” Gyspy Rose said.

“The kiss he gave me was quite passionate. I looked at him and was like, ‘I didn’t even know you liked me like that’, and he said ‘Yeah, I have for a while’. And I’m like, ‘I have for a while too'”.

Gypsy Rose was the first girl he ever said I love you too.

He first proposed in October 2018

Though it wasn’t officially announced until 2019, Gypsy Rose has shared that the two got engaged in October 2019.

“This was something we had discussed for a while, so it wasn’t out of the blue,” she told E! News.

“We bounced around the idea, we have a pretty solid thing going and we’re pretty sure this is what we want. So, on the October visit, he held my hands close and told me how much I meant to him and he’s like, ‘I would really, really be honoured if I could have your hand in marriage,’ and I said yes.”

The first engagement ring Ken gave to Gypsy was a silver band but this got confiscated in prison so he bought her a new one.

He comes from a big family

In an interview, Gypsy revealed that Ken comes from a big family. “He is one of five,” she said. “He has a big family and so do I. My father’s side is pretty big. It’s something I am relieved about because it’s like, a lot of people in here they don’t always have that family support.”

She added that Ken’s family had been super supportive of their relationship. “I was very concerned when we first started dating, because I was like, ‘Oh my god your family is going to think of me like I’m in prison for murder!’ And he was like, ‘No my mom has watched the documentary and my grandma has watched the documentary and my grandma, my brother and everybody has watched it so they know your story and they do have a heart for you.’ So I didn’t have to explain everything, it was sort of already known when I came into the picture.”

Gypsy Rose described him as a ‘nerd’ who loves Harry Potter

Describing Ken to E! News, she said he is “kind of a nerd” who shares a lot of her interests.

“I love ‘Lord of the Rings,’ Harry Potter; we are particularly totally in love with Harry Potter. We can’t wait to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter when I am free and he’s one of those people that has a very kind heart,” she said.

He’s apparently very ‘understanding and sensitive’

Talking more about his personality, Gypsy Rose said: “He’s very understanding, very supportive, very easy to talk things out with. He’s not one of those people who is going to be like, ‘Well this is your fault.'”

They broke up after The Act was released

Ken and Gypsy broke up after The Act, a drama featuring Joey King playing Gypsy, was released. She said the attention and added scrutiny from the general public was what contributed to the end of their engagement.

“I was transformed into a pseudo-celebrity,” Gypsy wrote in her book. “My personal life became public, which was really hard on Ken. Clickbait articles appeared mockingly announcing our engagement.

“Ken was a private person and didn’t want the attention or the scrutiny,” she continued. “While I understood and shared in his sentiment, I took it hard when he ended our relationship.”

Gypsy went on to say that she felt lost after their relationship ended: “The rite of passage of losing my first love happened alone in jail instead of in my bedroom surrounded by girlfriends playing me a breakup mix and eating pints of Ben & Jerry’s like in the movies.”

In another interview with PEOPLE, Ken’s mother Raina said: “My son has never had any kind of ill intentions towards Gypsy. It devastated him when they broke up the first time. But he truly thought that was what was best for Gypsy.”

Gypsy was in contact with Ken weeks before her wedding to Ryan

In the Lifetime documentary about her, it’s revealed that Gypsy Rose and Ryan Anderson had a major fight ahead of their marriage as Gypsy Rose shared her lingering feelings for Ken. During a phone call between them, Gypsy even reveals that she had a dream that she left Ryan for Ken.

They got matching tattoos

Just weeks after her split from Ryan, Gypsy Rose was seen getting matching tattoos with Ken, of two husky dogs to symbolise the “strong bond” between them. They’ve also been on holiday together and have plans to move in with one another.

His D is also apparently fire

Um, so remember the whole saga when Gypsy Rose admitted that Ryan’s “D is fire” after haters came after them? Well, someone on TikTok asked her: “Now the real question is, is THIS D fire???” and she replied: “Let’s just say, I’m VERY happy.” Good for her, I guess.
