University of Liverpool moves up four places in The Times Good University Guide

We’re back in the top 30!


University of Liverpool has been ranked the 29th best institution overall in the UK, an upgrade from 33rd the previous year, according to The Times Good University Guide 2024. Liverpool is the only university in the North West on the 2024 shortlist.

The university scored 85.6 per cent for graduates receiving a first or a 2:1 in their degree and 71 per cent for teaching quality.

Sitting one rank ahead ahead of Queen’s University, Belfast, and one below SOAS University of London, the uni shares a rank with Royal Holloway with a total score of 687/1000.

The league tables also score each university on student experience, where UoL scored 69 per cent. Liverpool received a score of 55.6 per cent on research quality, 84.8 per cent on graduate prospects, 96 per cent on continuation rates, and a student to staff ratio of 13.6:1.

At the university, Dentistry scored the highest for student satisfaction with 87.1 per cent, and Criminology and Sociology both scored the lowest with 51.1 per cent.
