Newcastle Uni places in top 10 for five subjects in Guardian University Guide 2024
The fine art programme is second to Oxford
Newcastle University has placed within the top 10 unis for five subject areas, a new league table shows.
The Guardian released The Guardian University Guide 2024, which ranks UK universities on different scales including; student satisfaction, student-to-teacher ratio and overall career prospects.
Newcastle ranked particularly high in certain subjects such as:
- Fine Art (second)
- Animal Science and Agriculture (sixth)
- Construction, Surveying and Planning (ninth)
- Dentistry (10th)
- Journalism (10th)
The university also ranked high in other popular subjects such as Architecture (11th), Earth and Marine Sciences (17th), Medicine (18th) and Education (20th).
This comes after Newcastle has ranked higher than ever in the best student cities ranking, coming in 39th place by QS Top Universities.

Newcastle placed 63rd in this years rankings.
