The human remains found at Pollock Halls have now been identified

The human bones that were found at Pollock Halls back in September have now been identified.

The scientists who examined the bones have confirmed that they are from a man who was in his 50s, and from the Scottish Borders.

According to Police Scotland, the circumstances surrounding the man's death are not suspicious and his family have now been informed since his identification.

The initial discovery was made on September 26th, and Police Scotland made it clear that the bones had been in the ground for a "considerable length of time".

For now, the forensic teams have cordoned off an area outside Fraser Court on Dalkeith Road, whilst further investigations are carried out.
