Glasgow spends more money on alcohol than any other Scottish uni

We’re also in the top ten most cost-effective in the UK

Glasgow spends the second most on alcohol out of any uni in the UK.

According to the NatWest Student Living Index, the average Glasgow student spends £8.63 on buying alcohol per week – £2 higher than the national average.

We were beaten by Newcastle, but soared past Edinburgh in 10th place and and Dundee in 17th to be crowned the uni in Scotland which buys the most alcohol.

In the Index overall, we were named the 9th most cost-effective city in the UK for students – the top five being Edinburgh, Southampton, Cambridge, Oxford and Plymouth.

It’s not all good news, though – we spend the 10th most on household bills as well.

We also have the 12th highest expenditure on clothes, but who cares when you look this good at Viper.
