It is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a passion for journalism or writing, and is great experience for a variety of career paths.
What is The Tab?
The Tab is a national media outlet that covers everything from news, student life, and youth culture and has amassed over nine million readers a month.
Originally founded by three students from Cambridge University, The Tab is now involved in nearly 30 unis across the country, where student reporters write articles that are important to young people.
The national site covers stories from Love Island to celebrity controversies to university scandals. There’s really something for everyone on there.
Also, if you join a local team, you’ll get a chance to write for the national site, and maybe also join The Tab HQ writers in London.
Features Editor
As Features Editor you will assume responsibility for The Tab Glasgow’s famed features pieces. This involves commissioning, editing and writing the iconic pieces which are often amongst the most popular with our viewership.
You’ll be able to cover every aspect of student life, from nightlife to fashion and food. You will be working on pieces that cover current opinions, fun guides and witty commentary on campus life, you will also oversee the quizzes, opinion pieces, guides and other fun stories that we write. Rating outfits on campus, or arguing which Glasgow club is better – as Features Editor you’ll have a keen interest in everything relevant and relatable to Glasgow students.
Some examples of articles similar to the work you would be overseeing include our review of the 2024 Glasgow Charity Fashion Show, those on unique achievements such as a student who wrote their dissertation on Taylor Swift’s re-recordings, how to avoid a disappointing date with a guide to Glasgow red flags on dating apps, or even reviewing events and experiences across the city.
However, the role is not simply limited to this. You will also assume more general editorial roles, such as supporting the Editors in Chief and News Editor with general editing and writing duties, as well as attending events which have student interest throughout the year in a media capacity.

As our Social Media Editor, you will take charge of The Tab Glasgow’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
You will share published articles to drive traffic, and engage our audience with memes, interactive Insta stories, and more!
