These are the top 10 date spots in Brum this cuffing season

With cuffing season well underway, the chilly winter nights are about to get more bearable with some much needed romance. Luckily for you, with date spots on every corner (apart from Bristol Road), Birmingham is the perfect place to spice up your love life.

From cute cafés, bars, attractions or whatever you’re into – choose from these top 10 student-friendly date spots.

1. Wander around Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market

Soak up the Christmas spirit, sip mulled wine and share some cinnamon churros at Brum’s free Christmas market from Thursday the 2nd of November.

With stalls, festive lights, and a glowing carousel, photo opps are everywhere making it the perfect place to snap your couple goal pics.

2. Go for a skate at Ice Skate Birmingham

As part of the Christmas festivities, a pop-up ice rink will appear at Centenary Square from Thursday 2nd of November.

Whether you’re zooming round the rink together or falling flat on your face, you will both have a blast (or at least a funny story).

3. Catch a film at the Mockingbird Cinema and Café in Digbeth

Ditch the big cinema chains for this retro-American indie cinema. Cosy up together in the intimate movie theatre, fill up on some banging Mac ‘n’ Cheese and watch a classic.

4. Taste award winning pizza at Baked in Brick

If  American delights aren’t your thing, just a few seconds away from the cinema lies this legendary pizza joint.

Their mouth-watering Posh Vegan pizza will definitely top the Aldi ready-meal your date had planned.

5. Grab a pint and enjoy live music at Nortons Digbeth

Venture beyond Selly to this buzzing Irish bar. Believe it or not, some Brum pubs aren’t rammed with drunk student sports teams.Start the night with a Guinness and end up dancing the night away together to a thumping gig. 

6. Enjoy a Sunday breakfast porridge at Morridge

Bored of sliced avocado on sourdough for brunch? Visit this snug café in the city centre specialising in all thing’s porridge. On Sunday their selection of oats (from £4.60) run until 3pm.

If chit-chat over a bowl of Biscoff caramel oats isn’t tempting enough, share the weekend-special autumn pancakes.

7. Attend an enchanting night-time Candlelight concert in Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens

From £22pp this one is pricey, but it can be a particularly fancy choice for a special occasion. Cosy up in the garden together and sway to your favourite Abba tunes or Coldplay anthems.

8. Laugh your hearts out at the Comedy Carousel Birmingham

On a Thursday night pop down to The Glee Club where you’ll find both seasoned comedians and fresh talent are guaranteed to have you both bawling with laughter. Beware new couples, sit further from the front to avoid the very real danger of being picked on.

9. Go on a romantic stroll across Birmingham’s Canals

No need to fly to Venice for an overpriced romantic getaway when you can get your scenic canal fix right here in Birmingham (if it hasn’t been said enough already – Brum has more canals than Venice).

Grab your wellies, stretch your legs and explore the canals across the city.

10. Have a colour changing or bubble bath cocktail at The Alchemist

Add a twist to your date by swinging by this potion-making bar, home to an assortment of (reasonably priced) chemistry-inspired cocktails.
