The Daily Mail’s new ranking of UK unis is here. The Daily Mail also calculated what the best three subjects are to study at each uni, based on how high up the uni came for that subject in its league tables.

The Daily Mail says that it researched many different areas when creating its university ranking, including graduate salaries and feedback from 346,000 final-year students.

So, you can check out what subjects your uni specialises in, and have a minor existential crisis about whether you should have applied to study somewhere else.

Here are the three best subjects to study at each UK uni, according to the Daily Mail.

University of Aberdeen

Aberdeen Uni came second for medicine, eighth for business and sixth for education on the Daily Mail’s charts.

Aston University

This is the first year that Aston Uni has participated in the Daily Mail’s uni ranking. It came 10th for politics, 13th for business and 19th for psychology.

University of Bath

According to the Daily Mail, the Uni of Bath is the best uni in the UK to study AI, chemical engineering and computer science.

University of Birmingham

The Uni of Brum topped the Daily Mail’s league tables for dance, and came second for computer science and drama.

University of Bristol

The Daily Mail ranked Bristol seventh for finance, tenth for accounting and ninth for mechanical engineering.

University of Cambridge

Cambridge is ranked first for African and Middle Eastern studies, bioscience and Celtic subjects.

Cardiff University

Cardiff is the best place in the UK to study pharmacology. The uni came second for pharmacy, and ninth for psychology.

City, University of London

The Daily Mail has ranked City separately from St George’s this year, although the unis are now merging. City came third for finance, sixth for accounting and fourth for health science.

University of Dundee

Dundee is ranked highly for a few subjects. It came second for education, fourth for film and photography, and eigth for finance.

Durham University

Durham topped the Daily Mail’s league table for human geography and theology. It also came second in the rankings for marketing.

University of Edinburgh

Edinburgh uni ranked third for education, fourth for geography and eighth for tourism and travel.

University of Exeter

The Daily Mail calculated that Exeter is the best uni in the UK to study creative writing and forensic science. It also ranked Exeter fourth for business.

University of Glasgow

Dentistry is definitely the best subject to study at Glasgow. The uni came second on the Daily Mail’s league table for dentistry. Glasgow also came 14th for sociology and 17th for business.

Heriot-Watt University

The Daily Mail decided to rank Heriot-Watt University first for both economics and electrical engineering. It also came joing second for chemical engineering.

Imperial College London

Imperial is ranked first for chemistry and maths, and second for mechanical engineering.

King’s College London

The Daily Mail put King’s second for psychology, social policy and genetics.

University of Leicester

The Uni of Leicester topped the Daily Mail’s rankings for both medicine and physio. It also came third for maths.

University of Leeds

The Daily Mail ranked Leeds tenth for nursing, third for anatomy and eighth for civil engineering.

University of Liverpool

The Daily Mail says that dentistry is the best thing to study at the Uni of Liverpool. The uni came first in the Daily Mail’s rankings for dentistry. Liverpool also came second for music and fourth for accounting.

London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)

LSE is the best uni to study accounting, finance and politics at. I’d have been a bit concerned if the London School of Economics and Political Science wasn’t a good place to study economics and political science.

Loughborough University

The Daily Mail put Loughborough University first in its rankings for history and materials, then second for design.

University of Manchester

The Daily Mail recommends that people study tourism and travel at the University of Manchester. The uni came third for this subject. Manchester also ranked 22nd for computer science and 21st for marketing.

Newcastle University

The Daily Mail put Newcastle Uni second for media studies, third for pharmacy and joint third for dentistry.

The University of Nottingham

Nottingham is the best place in the UK to study veterinary medicine. It also ranked second for civil engineering, and fourth for electrical engineering.

University of Oxford

Oxford is ranked first for French, Spanish and environmental scientists.

Queen Mary University of London

English language is definitely the best subject to pick at Queen Mary University of London. The uni topped the Daily Mail’s league table for the subject. The uni also came 3rd for linguistics and 16th for law.

Queen’s University Belfast

This uni is the best for agriculture in the UK. The Daily Mail also ranked it 6th for both finance and nursing.

University of Sheffield

Sheffield is the best uni in the UK if you want to study civil engineering, law or mechanical engineering.

University of Southampton

Southampton uni topped the Daily Mail’s league tables for aerospace engineering and art. The uni also came third for electrical engineering.

University of St Andrews

The Daily Mail has decided that St Andrews is the best uni in the country for studying archaeology, classics and history of art.

St George’s, University of London

Anatomy is by far the best subject to specialise in at St George’s, because the Daily Mail put it as the top uni to study this. St George’s also came 18th on the charts for health science and counselling.

University of Strathclyde

The Daily Mail ranked Strathclyde Uni first for physics and tourism. It’s also the second best place to study forensic science.

University of Surrey

Surrey Uni topped the Daily Mail’s league tables for drama, music and nutrition.

University College London (UCL)

According to the Daily Mail, UCL is the best place in the UK to study anthropology, Italian and Spanish.

University of East Anglia (UEA)

The Daily Mail reckons that UEA is a good place to study STEM subjects. UEA came fourth for counselling, and then fifth for both biomedical science and physics.
