Revealed: These unis officially spend the most outrageous amounts on takeaways
What the hell does Oxford do to students?
NatWest’s 2024 survey of UK uni students has revealed how much each uni city spends on takeaways. All that studying that Russell Group uni students supposedly do must be making them ravenous, because students in cities with Russell Group unis spend some of the most money each month on takeaways.
Oxford takes the lead by a long way, which a whopping £78 monthly spend. Do Oxford students think their essays are so vital to the earth’s survival that they lack the ten minutes required to make pesto pasta? Are Oxford Brookes students so spoiled by Mummy and Daddy that they lack the basic life skills to make pesto pasta?
Unsurprisingly, London came second – presumably because y0u have to practically sell your spleen to buy a packet of Pringles in London these days. London students spend 40 per cent more on takeaways than the average UK of £44 per month.
Students in Belfast spend the least money each month on takeaways. Maybe Dominoes is cheaper over there or something? Belfast is also the least expensive city to go to uni in.
