‘Let us soak up the moment’: Simone Biles says she’s fed up of pushy interviews after wins

Simone Biles is totally over being asked one particular question by interviewers, and she’s spoken out about it after her amazing wins at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The iconic gymnast has just become the most decorated US gymnast in history, but is constantly being quizzed on her next move, despite just winning a staggering amount of gold medals.

She took to X to share her frustration: “You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics.”

She replied to her tweet with a follow-up: “Let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for.” The tweet now has over 700,000 likes.

In the tweet’s comments, somebody asked her in an ironic manner: “What is your next step after winning the gold medal?” She replied with: “Babysitting the medal.” The gymnast queen knows how to put the haters in their place!

Simone deserves her rest and to soak in her glory for a little bit, but it’s no surprise her fans are eager to hear about what she’ll be doing next. She’s skyrocketed to new levels of fame since her Netflix documentary, Simone Biles: Rising, combined with her fun internet presence and outstanding Olympics performance, so the irritating question is still being asked by interviewers.

She has hinted at competing at the 2028 Olympics, which are to be held in Los Angeles, USA. She told reporters: “The next Olympics is at home. So you just never know. But I am getting really old.” We’re all hoping to see Simone grace our screens again at the next Olympics, but will of course support whatever she decides to do!

So far in Paris, she has won gold medals in the vault, the team all-round final and the individual all-round final. She also holds the record for the most medals won at major international competitions by any gymnast, which is a whopping 40. She still has the chance to add two more golds to her collection in the balance beam and floor exercise finals.
