‘Looking at houses, meeting family’: The Love Island 2024 finalists spill all on next stages

Oh this bunch move FAST

After a wild eight weeks, the finalists of Love Island 2024 are now back to reality having ~hopefully~ found love in the villa. This week we crowned Mimii and Josh winners, and then our finalists were Nicole and Ciaran, Matilda and Sean and Jess and Ayo.

Since leaving the villa, the three finalist couples have done their first interview and shared all on what’s next for their relationships. If you thought they were going to be taking it easy and living in the slow lane, you got them all wrong. This bunch are moving full speed ahead.

So, here’s what the Love Island 2024 finalists have said since leaving the show.

Ciaran and Nicole are going for dinner, and are planning a holiday

When asked what they are planning straight out of the villa, Nicole said Ciaran needs to “pass the Bonnie test” and get the seal of approval from her dog. “We are going to take my dog Bonnie for a walk,” she said and added they’ll be spending a lot of time getting to know each other’s families.

Ciaran has dates and holidays on the mind, and added: “One of the main things I want to do is go to a really nice restaurant and have a nice steak dinner. Looking forward to a holiday as well, we did say Croatia for that. I don’t know why but I’ve been told it’s really nice.”

Sean has a special date planned that he’s keeping very secretive

Sean has been particularly quiet when talking about next plans with Matilda, and has just said he has a very special date planned for her, but is “keeping my cards close to my chest.”

Matilda has spoken a bit more about their plans, and said: “Definitely getting our families together. My mum and sister and his mum and sister have been speaking. I reckon they’ve got a WhatsApp group. I feel like we’ll have one big party seeing all our family and friends. And then Sean has a date planned that he won’t tell me about…”

Jess and Ayo are so real, saying they can’t wait to get back to a quiet life

Yet again, Jess and Ayo have proven they’re the realest couple from Love Island 2024. When asked what they’re looking forward to, they literally just want to chill.

“We just want to have a night in! Have some time with friends and family,” Jess said. “Ayo’s sister said last night on FaceTime she couldn’t wait to see me again. And I want to meet his mum. But we want to chill, go out to eat together and meet each other’s friends.”

Ayo added: “Honestly just meeting friends and family. That’s the most important thing for me right now. And then spend time with Jess and get back to normal life.”

Sean says he regrets being so opinionated in the villa

Usually when the Islanders are asked in interviews what their biggest regrets are, they pass the question off and say nothing. But Sean has come out and said he regrets how opinionated he was about everyone, and said he should have focused on Matilda more.

“For me probably being too opinionated where my opinions weren’t necessary, and staying focused on what I had with Matilda,” he said. “I maybe could have held back when my opinion wasn’t needed. Maybe I should have reined it in on that front. You are in a bubble, everyone is in everyone’s business.”

He added: “I probably got wrapped up in things with the Joey friendship and how that panned out. Maybe I should have held back more in some scenarios, like with the whole Josh and Mimii situation. I should have just focused on myself and my relationships more.  By the end of course we were all great friends.”

This time next year, Ciaran and Nicole want to have a house together!

Nicole said that in a year’s time she wants to be “looking at houses, moving in together, 100 per cent that’s on the cards.” Ciaran also said they are “thinking about moving in together” but will still be going on dates and taking holidays, “then probably looking at houses.”

Matilda and Sean are all about having fun for the next year

When asked where they’d like to be as a couple in a year, Matilda said: “We just want to have so much fun over the next year. We want to travel, have holidays, enjoy life, have new experiences and hopefully go from strength to strength. Inside the villa we had such a good relationship from the get go, and just being best friends.”

Sean added: “Having the freedom of doing stuff. Matilda is very spontaneous. I don’t want to be as work focused because I have always been like that. Just to enjoy each other’s company and love life.”

Ayo and Jess have big travel plans for the future

Despite wanting to chill out now, Ayo and Jess have said their one year plan is completely focused around going to gorgeous locations across the world. Jess said she sees them in the Caribbean in a year’s time, as Ayo has never been, and Ayo wants to travel to Brazil.

“We just want to be genuinely happy, fulfilled and loving life together,” Jess said. “A lot of travel, and being content with life and each other.”
