maths brain teaser IQ

If you can solve this maths brain teaser in under 12 seconds you could have a top IQ

I can’t believe it took me so long to get this!

There’s nothing more I like to do than put myself through the mental anguish of realising that I’m still no good at a maths-related brain teaser and that my IQ might be overinflated in my mind. There seems to be a new way to test your IQ every week and for unrelated reasons, I shall be keeping the results of those to myself.

Brain teasers are deceptive because they look quite fun and easy when in reality they’ll make you accidentally give yourself an aneurysm because of how hard you’ve been trying to work out the answer.

And if you can solve this newest maths brain teaser in under 12 seconds, then you could have one of the highest IQ scores in the country!

  • 1 = 3
  • 2 = 3
  • 3 = 5
  • 4 = 4
  • 5 = 4
  • 6 = ?

You have to work out what the value of six is. If it makes you feel any better I had absolutely no idea what it was and had to concede defeat. At first, there doesn’t seem to be a logical answer but I promise you once you work it out you’ll kick yourself for not seeing it sooner!

Okay, so what number does six represent?

The sequence follows a pattern of how many letters are spelt out in each number, meaning the number six would be equal to three. Broken down, the equation looks like this:

  • 1 (One) = 3
  • 2 (Two) = 3
  • 3 (Three) = 5
  • 4 (Four) = 4
  • 5 (Five) = 4
  • 6 (Six) = 3

I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner. If you managed to get it in under 12 seconds you could actually be a secret genius!
