Bling Empire legend Anna Shay has passed away aged 62

Her family called her their ‘brightest ray of sunshine’

Bling Empire star Anna Shay has sadly passed away. Her family has confirmed on Monday (June 5th) that she died, aged 62.

PEOPLE Magazine has reported Anna passed away “unexpectedly” from a stroke. Her family paid tribute to her as their “brightest ray of sunshine”.

“It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away at the early age of 62 from a stroke,” her family said in a statement. “Anna taught us many life lessons on how not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the finer things. Her impact on our lives will be forever missed but never forgotten.”

Anna became a legend in Netflix series Bling Empire, focusing on mega rich Asians in LA. Anna quite literally smashed her way onto the show, in her first scene taking a hammer to a wall, in a designer dress, and declaring her family money came from weapons.

Throughout her life, Anna has done a lot of charity work, including working on the Shay Foundation, which was set up by her late parents.

Anna Shay was approached by her friend, Jeff Jenkins, who is the producer of the Netflix show, about being part of the Bling Empire cast. The reality TV icon leaves behind son Kenny Kemp.
