Taylor Jenkins Reid reveals why Pete isn’t in the Daisy Jones & The Six TV series

Taylor Jenkins Reid has finally addressed why Pete is missing in the Daisy Jones & The Six TV series. Pete is the sixth bandmate in the book but he does not make an appearance in the show, and has been cut completely.

In the original book, Pete is the bassist and Eddie’s brother. He isn’t a major part of the book and eventually tells his brother he will be leaving the band to marry his girlfriend once their tour is over.

A lot fans have begun to notice is absence and it’s safe to say, they’re not too happy about it. One person said: “Am I the only one that feels it’s weird they completely took Pete out of the Daisy Jones & The Six show? Like I get it might be symbolic because Camila is like the last member but Pete was so wholesome in the book.”

Another echoed the same thoughts and said: “Love how Pete is not in the Daisy Jones show so now the band is five members but still called The Six.”

Before the TV show was released, Taylor Jenkins Reid shared with her followers why Pete was not going to be featured in the show. In an Instagram story, she said: “I just want to say don’t worry about why it’s called Daisy Jones and The Six when there’s no Pete. There’s a great answer and just know you’re in good hands.”

The Daisy Jones & The Six showrunner, Scott Neustadter, recently opened up about Pete not being part of the show and said: “When you adapt things for television, changes inevitably happen. But this one didn’t stress us out too much. The Pete character serves a function in the novel, but he doesn’t have much to say, he’s not the most dramatic. We knew if we were going to cast Pete, the actor might want more to do.

“I hope everyone, especially the Pete stans, forgive us after they watch the show. So RIP Pete, but I do think there’s a little bit of him embodied in some of our other characters.”
