Caroline Flack speaks out on Instagram after denying assault charge in court

Caroline Flack has posted on Instagram hours after denying in court she assaulted her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Caroline thanked fans for their “continued support and love” on her Instagram story, adding she would be relieved when she could tell her version of events.

Caroline Flack was in court today after being charged with assault. The Love Island presenter was arrested at her flat in north London on 12th December, after police were called to a domestic disturbance.

She pleaded not guilty to assault.

On her Instagram story, she wrote: “Thankfully I know a lot of you will not believe all you have heard and read following today’s court hearing.

“Thank you for your continued support and love.

“It’s going to be a relief when I am able to give my side of the story, when I’m allowed to x”

Caroline will appear in court again on March 4th. She is currently on bail, and is restricted from contacting Lewis Burton directly or indirectly, or going to his address.

The court heard today Lewis Burton allegedly suffered a head injury after being hit by a lamp when he was sleeping, the prosecution said.

Prosecutor Katie Weiss told the court Lewis Burton had begged the operator to send help, and that officers had described the scene as something out of a horror movie.

Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court were told by Flack’s lawyers that Lewis Burton did not support the prosecutions case, and that the two were still together. Paul Morris, defending Caroline Flack, said: “He is not the victim, as he would say, he was a witness.”

The trial is expected to take no longer than one and a half days.
