The whopping amount of money Whitney Rose lost when her business failed is actually insane
We're talking six figures
There’s nothing better than when reality stars bring their vulnerabilities to the table, and this season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City sees Whitney Rose doing just that.
Early on in season six, Whitney gets candid about the fact that one of her businesses “tanked,” and it turns out she wasn’t over-egging it. During an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, she reveals the whopping six figure sum that went down the drain when her business failed.
Whitney said Wild Rose Beauty ‘tanked’
During RHOSLC, Whitney told her fellow cast members: “I had to fire 30 employees… I failed at something that I was really excited about that started as a massive success.”
Whitney’s entrepreneurial journey began with Iris + Beau, a skincare line she launched in 2017. In 2020, she rebranded it to Wild Rose Beauty, aiming for a fresh start.
But despite her best efforts, the brand couldn’t keep up, leading to its quiet shutdown. Not one to give up, Whitney co-founded Sōl People, a wellness-focused company, in 2024. However, that venture also faced challenges, with reports of poor sales and financial difficulties.
Speaking on the Bravo show, Whitney said she’s no stranger to “the ebbs and flows of business.” But with this business, it just failed entirely. She said: “We’re talking millions… thousands of customers.” Whitney went on to add how she felt she “failed all her employees, her customers, and her family…” adding: “And now we have nothing.”
Then, during Watch What Happens Live, she disclosed the insane amount of money she actually lost. Andy Cohen asked: “Over $100,000?” and Whitney replied: “Yes.”
He continued to ask: “Over $300,000?” Whitney went on to say she lost “over $500,000,” but added: “Do you know what’s beautiful? I have multiple streams of income, I have Prism, I have a lot of other things, so I’m fine.”
Whitney’s now relaunched the brand
Things appeared to hit an all-time low for Whitney when her business failed.
But, per a recent Instagram post, the Real Housewives star has flipped the whole thing on its head and only went and launched Wild Rose Beauty again!
She wrote in her post: “…For those who have seen the Season 6 premiere of #RHOSLC you learned that I recently have been through a lot with a business venture failing. The venture was tied to my skincare brand @thewildrosebeauty As hard as it is to admit failure on such a public level it was liberating to speak my truth…”
“Wild Rose Beauty proudly announces that Whitney Rose, the original founder, visionary, and face of the brand, has officially reclaimed full ownership,” she said.
“As of today, Wild Rose Beauty is no longer affiliated with any former partners or outside ownership groups, ushering in a new era of independence, authenticity, and innovation.”
Whitney continued: “This relaunch is deeply personal to me; it’s about reconnecting with what I originally set out to create: a beauty brand that empowers, uplifts, and celebrates authenticity. Wild Rose Beauty has always been about more than skincare; it’s about creating routines that help people feel beautiful inside and out.”
