All the reality stars who have denied their nepo baby status, despite obviously being one
One of them literally starred on a show called Born Into Fame
It’s an indisputable fact that some reality TV stars are nepo babies, and there isn’t really two ways about it. Still, some stars are still insisting that the success of their parents has nothing to do with their own success, so let’s see who’s still firmly in denial
Dejon
Dejon starred in season 12 of Love Island, but even before he entered the villa he quickly addressed and shut down claims of his nepo baby status.
Dejon’s dad, Gifton Noel-Williams is a professional footballer who played for Stoke City, Watford and Burnley.
During an interview with The Sun, Dejon asked what he thought about the fact he’d been coined as a “nepo baby” with the reality star admitting he’d somehow never heard the term.
He continued: “Now that I’ve been called a nepo baby, I don’t know how to react.”
Dejon faced further accusations of getting more exposure off the back of nepotism because his very close friendship with previous Love Island star Tyrique.
However, Dejon explained: “I’ve known him since we were kids, like babies,my dad and his dad played for the same team and they were best friends.
“As we got older, we had similar interests. We played for the same teams and we played against each other at football.”
Shamiso Mosaka
Shamiso is the daughter of veteran broadcaster Azania Mosaka, and despite starring on a show literally called, Born Into Fame, still insists she’s not a nepo baby.
Alongside being a prolific MTV host, Shamiso says she’s had to work hard to get where she is in the industry, explaining: “The spaces I have worked in have always been where my bosses and people can see that this girl is dope.
“My talent has always come forward. So no, I would not consider myself a nepo baby. But I do know that people who aren’t as impressed with my talent will feel like I am where I am because of my mom.”
Lexi Holden
Okay, so whilst Lexi Holden herself hasn’t said anything about being a nepo baby, her mother Amanda Holden has made her stance very clear on the term.
She told The Radio Times: “Yes, she’s related to me, but that’s nothing to do with me. The word ‘nepo’ can be thrown around forever, but it’s unfair it’s been used in showbiz.
“When I was young, I got a job in a fruit and veg shop as my mum knew the guy. If you know someone can help your child get in somewhere, you’ll do whatever.” Sorry but the lack of self awareness some of these celebrities have is truly gobsmacking.
The Beckham Children
Sorry, but you cannot convince me that the Beckham kids aren’t completely profiting off of their parents names, I mean it only takes one look at Brooklyn’s photography book to see what I mean. That elephant haunts my dreams.
Victoria however is absolutely adamant that life is actually very hard for the children of celebrities, telling The Sun: “I mean, I feel sorry for these kids that are considered nepo babies. The kids are simply the kids of their parents. It’s not their fault. Give them a chance.”
