Hang on, is Taylor Swift’s Charli XCX ‘diss track’ actually about Kim Kardashian?

Ever since Taylor Swift released her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, there were rumours abuzz that Actually Romantic was a diss track about Charlie XCX, however this might not be true.
As it turns out, Actually Romantic might actually not be about Charli XCX at all, but none other than Taylor Swift’s nemesis, Kim Kardashian.
So, according to Page Six, there’s lyrical “proof” that the song could actually be completely about Kim Kardashian, or at the very least reference her alongside Charli XCX.
As for the evidence? Well, in 2018 Kim posted about Valentine’s Day, and included a picture of various post it notes with celebrities names on them, include one for Taylor Swift.
She wrote in her caption: “I decided for this Valentine’s Day everyone deserves a Valentine. So I’m going to send them to my lovers, to my haters, to everyone that I think of because it’s Valentine’s Day after all.”
And as it so happens, in the new Taylor Swift song she includes the lyric: “But you keep sending me funny valentines / And I know you think it comes off vicious / But it’s precious, adorable.”
And because of this, some people are convinced that Actually Romantic is about Kim Kardashian rather than Charli XCX. However, given that that seems to be the only reference to Kim in the song, it’s still a lot more likely to be about Charli.
Taylor actually explained the meaning of the alleged “diss track” to Amazon Music, explaining: “It’s a song about realizing that someone else has kind of had a one-sided, adversarial relationship with you that you didn’t know about.
“And all of a sudden they start doing too much and they start letting you know that actually, you’ve been living in their head rent-free and you had no idea.
“It’s presenting itself as them sort of resenting you or having a problem with you but you take that and just accept it as love and you accept it as attention and affection, and how flattering that somebody has made you such a big part of their reality when you didn’t even think about this.”
