Love Is Blind’s Annie responds to being called homophobic and isn’t taking accountability
She said she'd 'love her child regardless' of their sexuality
Love Is Blind‘s Annie has now responded to comments that she’s homophobic, and denied the claims. She revealed in the pods that she would “love her child regardless” of their sexuality and claimed being gay is a “fad” during a conversation with Nick.
Annie and Nick both admitted they “got spanked and had old-school parents” growing up. Nick said: “Sometimes, they [kids] need to be reprimanded. Annie has now faced backlash after she agreed and said: “Hell yeah, I’ll be a strict parent but that’s as nice as I’ll be.”
When Nick asked Annie how she’d react if their child told her she was LGBTQ+, she said: “Like no matter what, I’ll always love my kids. But like, I can’t tell you I would be the first person to be like, ‘Yay!’ You know what I mean?” And in response, Nick agreed.
She continued: “Like, I’ll support my kids, but making sure they’re informed. Like, ‘Do you know what you’re getting into? Do you know what you’re signing up for?'” Nick then asked Annie if she believes being part of the LGBTQ+ community is a fad.
Annie replied, “100 percent,” before Nick went on to create examples like, ‘Shanice said, ‘I think I’m this,’ so I think I’m this,’ before saying: “When kids start having those thoughts, like, too young, and maybe I’m old-fashioned, but it’s like, a concern for me.”
She said in an Instagram DM: “Lol, it’s an unfortunate edit painting me as a homophobe. Don’t ever talk about my parents like that. We are all loving and amazing people. Netflix will do what they want and create a character to support their narrative.”
Annie has also shared a meme which reads, “Me STILL trying to be a lover girl after the world’s made me a monster.” It comes after Nick revealed to Annie that his mum asked if he was gay while he locked himself away in his room during a difficult high school relationship.
