Here’s why this Disney actor had to turn down becoming next lead of The Bachelor
'It would actually be really fun'
Pierson Fode was randomly asked to be on The Bachelor, but was forced to turn the opportunity down. It’s the first time the production team have been known to have approached a Disney actor, and it’s no wonder he was far too busy to put the time into the dating show.
During an appearance on Harry Jowsey‘s Boyfriend Material podcast, he said, “As soon as they saw the trailer for this, they were like, “Hey, do you want to be the Bachelor?” I don’t know how high up this went and this was a very quick conversation.”
He added: “I think he was either casting or one of the producers. I don’t know exactly what his position is and I was like, ‘Thank you so much. This would actually be really fun. I don’t think this is for me right now.’ I’m so busy. There’s no way I could allot that much time.”
Pierson added that he’s “shooting too much right now,” having just filmed a movie with Jowsey, The Wrong Paris, which is now out on Netflix. But his first real acting stint was on iCarly, while his best-known character is as Brooks on Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List.
More recently, he’s been in Man From Torento with Kevin Hart on Netflix, and has even been nominated for Emmy’s in his time as an actor. It would have made sense for him to go on The Bachelor, because The Wrong Paris is based on a dating show plot.
Pierson revealed that producers asked him to be on the dating show as soon as they saw the trailer for The Wrong Paris. Talking of competitions and reality shows, he also said that he thinks Dancing With The Stars is “amazing, but just not the show for him right now.”
