One guy 'doesn't know if he was in love'

There are loads of Love Island Games contestants who had messy splits, which usually ended after they went on the original dating show. From Ty and ex Ella’s short-lived post-villa romance to Toby’s past girlfriend, Chloe, who we thought were endgame, they didn’t end well.

Kendall and Nicole

A day after the Love Island USA season six reunion episode dropped, Kendall and Nicole split. Nicole wrote: “Today, on August 20th, he called and ended things. While I understand and respect his decision, It’s hard to process this one. I still love and care for him now.”

Charlie and Hannah

Charlie was briefly with Hannah on Love Island USA, and they even reunited after getting dumped from the villa, but never made things official. She told him she “likes him a lot and has a romantic connection with him,” to which he said he’s “blown away.”

Toby and Chloe

Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran split in 2022 after getting a place together. She said on Celebs Go Dating: “When he said like, ‘This is, it’s not working’, I just kind of said, ‘Okay’, and I was really heartbroken for months. Things were going well and then they fell apart.”

Isaiah and Sydney

Sydney, who lives in Los Angeles, and Isaiah, who lives in Florida, are all set to be reunited on Love Island Games season two. Basically, they were in a long-distance relationship for months, but she revealed in December 2023 that she was single again.

It was actually full of drama, because Isaiah claims he blacked out and woke up to two videos of him kissing a girl, which he doesn’t remember. Sydney immediately broke things off with him, and Isaiah tried to fight for her back all day.

Nicola and Dale

Nicola and Dale remained together for over a year after Love Island Malta and announced their split in September 2023. The first time they revealed they’d split was admittedly staged to make a point about getting lots of hate online, but sadly, the second time was real.

Garbi and Junar

Garbi and Junar were runner-ups on Love Island Netherlands & Belgium, but didn’t last afterwards. They never slept together as Garbi is still a proud virgin, and is currently waiting to truly fall in love before she sleeps with anyone intimately.

Andrea and Rob

Andrea stole Rob Rausch from Leah Kateb, until the Love Island USA season six cast voted her off. She then recently ended an 11-month relationship with her boyfriend, a DJ known as Acraze, just weeks before joining the show.

Adreina and Jeremiah

Adreina never truly dated Jeremiah, but she was coupled up with him during Love Island USA season seven, while she also briefly dated Bryan Arenales. He came out to say their conversations were boring, and they basically just called it quits soon after.

Kay Kay and Keenan

Keenan wasn’t 100 percent faithful to Kay Kay in the villa, but she forgave him and they decided to leave Love Island USA on their own terms. But by December 2023, they had split, and she said: “[I] noticed a huge change in like his energy and his respect, it was different.”

Lucinda and Zac

Zac and Lucinda went far on the Australian Love Island, becoming the show’s longest-standing couple, but he made a solo statement in February 2024 that they’d split. Zac wrote: “I’m not feeling too good about the situation and appreciate all the support so far.”

Mert and Sunita

Mert ended up taking third place while in a couple with Sunita Sophia, but the pair went their separate ways just weeks later. They felt they were growing apart and that their relationship wasn’t sustainable, so a decision was mutually made.

Chris and Huda

Chris and Huda met in Casa Amor and made it to the finale, but split before the season was even over. Chris told Huda to make a decision because he allegedly still wanted to make things work, and she decided to call time on their relationship before season seven wrapped.

Josh and Shannan

When Josh’s mum died during his time on Love Island USA, Shannan St. Clair left with him. However, they split in 2022 despite being best friends, revealing that they “rarely had arguments” but that “sometimes, timing is everything.”

They wrote: “We love this life we’ve built together, but sometimes timing is everything. We will always love and care for one another and remain friends, but unfortunately at this time we’ve made the decision to go our separate ways.”
