Omg, Kieran from Love Is Blind UK was supposed to be a bombshell on another reality show?!
He applied after someone on a date told him to
Kieran from Love Is Blind UK was actually cast as a bombshell for Love Island – but there was a wild turn of events. Basically, he was relatively newly single when he went on a first date with someone who told him he’d be “really good on Love Island.”
The comment inspired him, which led to Kieran going home from that date and applying for Love Island that exact night, after a few drinks, as she had “planted a seed in his head,” as exclusively revealed on the We Need To Talk podcast.
Kieran ended up going through the whole casting for Love Island, and ended up being cast as a bombshell?! He revealed that he’d have been on the season prior to Love Is Blind UK season two’s release date in August, which was the one where Josh and Mimi won.
He revealed: “I was in casting for Love Island for eight months or something ridiculous, and they cast me and I signed a contract with ITV. Now, my mum was horrified, she was like, ‘This is not a show for you, Kieran, like, that’s not you.'”
“A lot of my family shared the same sentiment, a lot of my friends thought it was hilarious and were like, ‘Yeah, you should definitely do that. That’s funny.’ So anyway, I was cast on Love Island as a bombshell – never got on the show,” Kieran added.
He explained how he “never actually got dropped into the villa” and “never even got out to the holding bit as they must have loads of us in this holding section.” Kieran said they’d ring him every three days to ask who he was interested in on the show.
“I did this and didn’t get on. Then, a lot of people in TV freelance and one of the casting people was then on Love Is Blind and my exclusivity period with Love Island ended after the show. They told me they were casting for a show that was ‘way more you’,” he said.
He was told that his details were already sent to the main casting team for Love Is Blind UK, and that he took the last slot for a male on the show. Kieran was informed they were filming in three weeks, so he watched the show as much as he could in a day, and accepted.
