Seth Rogan just savagely dragged reality TV stars at the Emmys, and it’s not the first time
His comments have literally been brutal
Seth Rogen may be a self-confessed reality TV lover, but that didn’t stop him from savagely dragging its stars at this year’s Emmys. In a moment that left the room stunned, the actor and comedian proved once again that he’s more than happy to bite the hand that feeds his guilty pleasure, and it’s not the first time he’s taken a swipe at reality TV’s biggest names. Let’s get into it.
He didn’t hold back about Jax

When Seth was asked if he was upset at the fact that Jax Taylor wasn’t returning to reality TV, he responded: “No, Jax is so toxic at this point it seems… he’s such a narcissist that craves attention… it seems wrong to give it to him by allowing him to be on television.”
He went on to say that “the lifts is the craziest thing ever,” referring to Jax wearing height-boosting shoes at the reunion to look taller. “I never even thought about him being short until I read that he was wearing lifts,” Seth laughed.
Seth also said that The Valley‘s Jax “isn’t a genius.” Ouch.
Seth went in on Real Housewives
Throwing it back some years, Seth appeared on Ellen and didn’t hold his tongue when it came to making the Real Housewives the butt of his jokes. He said: “I actually met one of the Housewives, I don’t know which one… the one with all the plastic surgery on her face.
“It’s funny because I never know what to say to reality TV people when you meet them… when you meet reality TV people, you actually do kind of know them. It’s always awkward because I’m like, ‘I’m such a big fan of how mean you are to your friends. All those terrible things you say about people behind their back… I’m a huge fan of all that stuff… the way you take your underpants off, keep that up, yeah.”
Subtle shade via Scheana
Although Seth has sung some reality TV shows praises, like The Hills, he’s seemingly thrown subtle shade when it comes to others like Vanderpump Rules.
He admitted having a soft spot for Scheana Shay and said: “She’s made some bad mistakes over the years, she’s said things publicly she maybe shouldn’t have. I do think ultimately her heart is in the right place, and out of all the people on the show, that’s something to be said.”
*That* wildly inappropriate comment about RuPaul
When an old exchange between Seth Rogen and RuPaul resurfaced, people were reminded of their playful friendship. Back in December 2013, Ru shared a list of favourite films, which included This Is The End, starring Seth. The actor quickly replied with what he thought was a cheeky compliment, writing: “Thanks RuPaul! When I was 15, I accidentally j**ked off to a picture of you thinking you were a girl!”
Rather than being offended, RuPaul came back with his trademark wit, tweeting: “A fist full of Jergen’s lotion, a vivid imagination and look at you now @sethrogen #Superstar #WorkB**ch.” The banter struck the perfect balance of outrageous and funny, showing both stars were clearly in on the joke. Over a decade later, the moment is still remembered, and despite it being wildly inappropriate, their friendship has only grown, with the pair even appearing together on Muppets Now for Disney+.
‘Reality TV stars are dangerous’
As a Bravo lover, Seth was asked at the 2025 Emmys if he’d ever appear on an episode of Vanderpump Rules or The Valley. He said: “It would be hard. Movie and TV people don’t co-mingle like that, so I don’t know if a movie studio cares at all about Bravo reality television, unlike me, who cares deeply about Bravo reality television.
“I’ve also learned with reality stars, it’s best to keep them at arm’s length a little bit, you don’t want to get too close, it can get dangerous, I think,” Seth rounded off.
