The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum has never been one to hold back, and she just shared a scary story involving her daughter that had fans clutching their pearls. According to Lisa, her daughter developed severe sepsis after a freak accident at Coachella, and it turned what should’ve been a weekend of flower crowns and desert sunsets into a full-blown medical emergency. While Lisa’s known for being over-the-top and glam, her honesty about the ordeal reminds everyone that even reality TV royalty aren’t immune to the unexpected. And poor Harry Hamlin, Amelia Gray’s dad, was literally none the wiser to any of the goings-on.

Amelia Gray’s body is a subject of discussion during her parents’ podcast, oddly enough. The topic of “nipple rings” comes up and ends up being something of a cautionary tale for anyone thinking of getting one.
Coachella is usually about glitter, music, and a bit of dust in your boots, not a trip to the hospital. But Lisa revealed that her daughter’s festival fun quickly went sideways after an accident left her with a serious infection. Things escalated fast, and before long, doctors diagnosed her with severe sepsis, a dangerous complication where the body goes into overdrive fighting infection.
Lisa explained how it all came about: “In the teenage years, when everybody was about 19-ish… there was nipple piercing going on.” The RHOBH alum said she was “so mad” at her kids after getting the piercings before asking her husband, Harry: “Don’t you remember there was an issue with Miss Amelia at Coachella?”
She continued: “Amelia had a nipple piercing, probably both… and they were at Coachella and ironically she was at a party where Erika Jayne was DJ-ing, she was up on a balcony and somebody pushed her forward and her boob went into a bush and it jammed the nipple into the boob and then she came home that night and all of a sudden she had a super high fever and her boob was this big.”

Lisa continued that after the incident, they didn’t know what to do and went to the hospital: “We took her to Sherman Oaks.” The model had an X-ray carried out at two in the morning, and, according to her mom’s account, Amelia had a really high fever. Harry seemed concerned that the fact his daughter had a nipple ring was “kept from him,” but Lisa urged: “I just don’t think you remember, I don’t think it was a secret.”
Bravoleb Lisa also added: “That didn’t fix it. Her boob swelled up to this humungous size… we called an infectious disease doctor. She had to go to the infectious disease doctor, she had sepsis in her boob… from whatever punctured when she went into the bush. She had to be on IV antibiotics for a week, it was actually very dangerous, guys.
“They’re both out now, after that situation.” She added how the couple’s other daughter, Delilah, also had nipple piercings but later removed them, adding: “Nobody wanted to die because they had a nipple ring. She literally had sepsis. We had to take her to UCLA and give her intravenous antibiotics for five days and two days at home, it was very traumatic.”
