There’s a Drag Race cinematic universe film coming, with RuPaul starring as President Gagwell
The plot sounds unhinged in the best possible way
I truly never knew that a Drag Race cinematic universe film featuring a hyper speed train and RuPaul as President Gagwell was missing from my life until now.
But it seems everyone has been feeling that way, as it’s officially been announced that a RuPaul’s Drag Race movie will be coming out next year, and it sounds iconic beyond all belief.
The film will be set in the Drag Race cinematic universe, move over Marvel, and will feature around a hyper speed train called the Glamazonian Express.
The movie will follow best friends Tess and DeeDee, who are two train stewardess who decide to change their regular shifts on the Stank Rail to the wondrous Glamazonian Express.
However, a Stormganza ends up derailing the entire train and results in it crashing into Los Angeles, with DeeDee and Tess having to think of their feet to save the day, including attending to President Gagwell, played by none other than RuPaul of course.
RuPaul has already expressed her excitement about her starring role in the upcoming Drag Race film, writing: “President Judy Gagwell is the part I was born to play. Finally, a role I can sink my dentures into.”
Director Adam Shankman added: “I’ve been friends with RuPaul for 30 years and in that time I’ve watched him and the folks at World of Wonder help change culture writ large with Drag Race.
“When they asked me to come aboard this hilarious and truly unhinged project, in a time so desperate for escapist entertainment and laughter, I couldn’t resist.”
The team behind the production company also chimed in, saying: “Drag queens in charge of America’s first-ever hyperspeed, transcontinental, non-denominational bullet train. What could possibly go wrong?
“What the world needs now is a disaster movie so twisted it will blow your mind. We are delighted to welcome Bleecker Street and everyone aboard the most bonkers train in cinematic herstory.”
