Despite being across the pond from each other, it turns out there have been some wild Love Island USA and UK crossovers over the years, and honestly some of these are completely unexpected!
So, from obvious showmances to constant rekindlings, let’s have a look at the most unexpected romantic Love Island USA and UK encounters.
Kyra and Megan Barton-Hanson
During Love Island Games in 2023, Meghan and Kyra coupled up together in one of the first ever same-sex pairings seen from either a UK or USA contestant.
Whilst they didn’t end up staying together due to Megan suddenly leaving the villa for unexplained medical reasons, it seems the pair ended on good terms after they reunited outside the show as friends.
Kyra told PopCulture that things between them are “way better” since they had the opportunity to talk about everything after filming finished.
She explained: “Once I got out of the villa, she DMed me, we talked, we caught up, and it was hard because it was like we never were able to resolve what happened in the game and talk about it.”
Jack and Justine
Jack and Justine captured the hearts of everyone on Love Island Games, and ultimately ended up winning the show and the hefty $100k prize pot.
However, it wasn’t set to last as four months after the show ended, the Love Island UK and USA stars confirmed that they’d decided they were better off as friends.
Jack wrote on his Instagram story: “BIG love to everyone who supported me and Justine in Love Island Games. Winning together was actually mental. Feels like ages ago now lol but just wanted to say we are keeping it as friends.
Cely and Eyal
As couples in Love Island Games go, Cely and Eyal were actually very wholesome together.
Whilst they no longer seem to be in a romantic relationship together, the two are on good terms, following each other on Instagram, and regularly complimenting each other in interviews.
Who knew it was possible for a Love Island couple to not have a toxic split?!
