So Trump just pardoned the Chrisleys, but are they actually out of jail yet?!
This was so out of the blue
Donald Trump is officially pardoning the Chrisleys, and I’m shook. He randomly made the announcement at The White House desk, revealing he “does not know them” but told Todd and Julie Chrisley‘s daughter, Savannah, that her “parents are going to be free and clean.”
Donald Trump just pardoned the Chrisleys
Donald Trump has officially called Savannah Chrisley to pardon her parents, Julie and Todd, out of prison, after they went to jail in January 2023. They’ve been in jail for tax evasion and fraud for just over two years, and she’s been fighting to have them released ever since.
Little, a partner at Litson PLLC, the firm representing the Chrisleys also issued a statement after the pardon was announced. They said, “This pardon corrects a deep injustice and restores two devoted parents to their family and community.”
“President Trump recognized what we’ve argued from the beginning: Todd and Julie were targeted because of their conservative values and high profile. Their prosecution was tainted by multiple constitutional violations and political bias,” they added.
Are Todd and Julie actually out of jail yet?
Not quite, but very soon! Todd and Julie are planning on getting picked up by Savannah today, after Trump said he “hopes they can do it by tomorrow” on May 27. He confirmed he wanted to get them released as soon as humanly possible.
She said she’s been preparing their room and clothes since hearing the news, saying in an Instagram video, “Getting clothes together for mom, getting their room together. I’m just speechless… It still doesn’t feel real. So I’m gonna go prepare to pick up my parents.”
He said, “Is that OK? We’ll try getting it done tomorrow. I don’t know them but give them my regards. Wish them a good life.” Todd and Julie’s son, Chase, has since told Trump, “Thank you Sir! You put my family back together.”
Trump told Savannah and Grayson on the phone, “They were given harsh treatment, based on what I’m hearing,” before asking if Grayson was fighting to have his parents released. He said, “I go to the University of Alabama and that’s the best presidential speech I’ve ever heard.”
