It's resurfaced after going viral last year
Whitney Leavitt from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has finally responded to the viral video of her dancing next to her unwell baby last year. The video, which saw Whitney get a lot of hate in 2021, has resurfaced, which was when her then-newborn son, Liam, was in the NICU suffering from respiratory issues and pneumonia.
Mormon Wives’ Whitney danced next to her ill baby
Whitney danced next to her baby, Liam, who was unwell with respiratory issues and pneumonia after just being born. He had respiratory syncytial virus and was placed in the NICU, and after she received a load of backlash for the dance, while her newborn was lying next to her, Whitney said she only done the dance in an attempt to stay positive.
She said in a follow-up video at the time, “I understand that people are upset with the video that I made. I just want to be clear and communicate that that was just me trying to be positive. I think it’s important to not just assume what someone’s going through. I took it down because I can see how someone might get the wrong idea.”
“That was honestly just me trying to be positive in this situation. I do want to say thank you to the people who have reached out to me and my family, and I really appreciate it,” Whitney added. Her son, Liam, is now a grown-up toddler, and is a younger sibling to her daughter, Sedona. She’s now expecting her third child with husband Connor.
She has finally responded to *that* baby video
Whitney has finally broken her silence on the viral resurfaced video of her dancing next to her baby. She’s admitted she regrets making the video in 2021 and told No Filter with Zack Peter: “I wish I never made that video because of the outcome that came from it. I one thousand per cent regret it because of the outcome because I know my intention going into it and it wasn’t perceived that way.”
“So I never would’ve posted it if I knew that’s how it was going to be perceived,” she added, revealing she was postpartum and in a dark place when she made the video. “Unfortunately I was in such a negative space already, postpartum, so I’m healing while my baby is not healing, that I wasn’t thinking clearly.”
