Lili Reinhart shot to fame in her role as Betty in the Netflix hit show Riverdale, with her status even garnering her an invite to the Met Gala for two years in a row.
However, following a public criticism of Kim Kardashian, Lili Reinhart would admit that she doubts she’ll ever be invited back to the Met Gala again, so what exactly happened?
During the 2022 Met Gala, Lili called out Kim Kardashian for promoting her rapid weight loss in order to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s dress.
She took to her Instagram story following the event to share her thoughts on Kim, writing: “To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala.
“When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is otherworldly disgusting.”
She added: “Please stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies. I am not generally an angry person but I swear to god, the toxicity of this industry sometimes really gets to me.”
In a later interview with W Magazine, Lili Reinhart opened up about the Met Gala admitting that whilst it “was fun” she believes her comments about Kim means she’ll never be invited back again.
She confessed: “After going again this year, I don’t think I’ll be invited back…I said a certain something about a certain person in a certain dress.”
