Bling Empire star emotionally reveals she’s sadly lost all her hair in medical mystery
She's lost '99 per cent' of her hair in just a few months
Bling Empire alumni star Christine Chiu has opened up about a medical mystery she’s currently dealing with that’s resulted in her losing “99 per cent” of her hair.
The Netflix star broke the news on Instagram alongside a clip of her getting a wig consultation done as a result of her “drastic and sudden” hair loss.
She explained that both she and medical professionals have no idea what could be causing the change, but that she’s currently undergoing “labs, ultrasounds and tests” to try and get to the root of the issues.
She wrote in the caption for the video: “My first custom wig fitting. For those who don’t know, I am experiencing sudden and dramatic hair loss.”
The Bling Empire alumni added she’s already “lost 99 per cent of my hair over the last few months” and has been “running labs, ultrasounds and tests” to find out what’s causing the loss.
Christine appeared on Bling Empire when the show first premiered, and appeared on all three seasons, alongside her husband, Gabriel Chiu.
Throughout the Netflix series, Christine was very open about their struggles to naturally conceive a child and eventually underwent six sessions of IVF before having her son, Gabriel in 2018.
She spoke out about her struggles to Tudum, saying: “I had held it in for so long and that wasn’t great for my mental health.
“There’s so much power in sharing our journeys and being there to support each other and talking it through. That was something I didn’t have when I was going through it.”
She added about the relief she felt being able to openly share their story with others who might be struggling, explaining: “It was a relief and kind of a burden lifted off of my shoulders.
“This is now no longer just about me and our family. This is about the millions of people undergoing similar struggles.”
