Karen Huger went to jail for a DUI
Do you think Karen Huger practiced doing her own cornrows? If I knew I was going to jail I would spend every day practicing the tightest braids possible 😭

Karen reportedly began her one-year jail sentence for a DUI at Maryland’s Montgomery County Correctional Facility, on February 27, 2025. She was involved in a car crash in 2024, in which footage of the night was shared on The Real Housewives of Potomac. On December 19, she was found guilty of DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify of a change in address.
She was acquitted of reckless driving. After her time in jail, Karen will be on a five-year probation. In addition to her time in jail, which is officially a sentence of two years in jail with one year suspended, Huger faces $2,900 in fines, along with no driving at all for a year after her release. Inmates at the jail Huger is in must wear institutional jumpsuit whenever they’re outside of their cells.
Whenever they leave their housing area, inmates are not allowed to wear sweatpants or sweatshirts underneath, and have to do their own laundry. She’ll also be expected to be up and out of bed by 8am for a routine inspection, but her hair should look good because barbering services are provided if it’s approved by the a department.

She is in federal prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud charges. As of March 2023, her rep told People: “I have spoken with my client Jen Shah over the phone this week. She is doing well and remains committed towards making her victims whole. She has initiated her payments towards restitution, and we hope to have her home as soon as possible so that she may resume life with her family and work.”
