From a reenactment of Karen Huger’s DUI to a “zoom in on her two broken nails,” the RHOP season 9 trailer is giving everything viewers want to see this fall.
While it looks like Real Housewives of Potomac fans couldn’t ask for more drama than what’s in store, Karen Huger reveals there are “two people” who could’ve been there for her more during the season. She explains a “couple” of her cast mates “didn’t rally around her,” following her DUI.
Karen Huger’s DUI is reenacted in trailer
When it comes to premiere previews of Real Housewives shows, Bravo fans are always in for a treat.
All the most dramatic moments are teased and viewers are often left on cliffhangers, dying to find out what else is in store in the all-new season.
As RHOP is set to arrive on October 6, a trailer for the show sees a reenactment of Karen’s DUI play out.
The segment makes up the opening scenes of the RHOP trailer and details how Karen was behind the wheel on March 19 heading home from dinner before she crashed into a tree and was taken into custody the same night.
The screen reads that she was “cited with a DUI” at 11:50 pm.
Karen’s friends ‘rallied around’ her
Following the DUI reenactment, the scene cuts to Gizelle Bryant speaking on the phone with Ashley Boalch Darby.
Gizelle picks Karen up to go for food as Ashley tells her over the phone it’s Karen’s “second offense.”
Karen’s co-stars expressed their thoughts on the DUI incident during the trailer. Gizelle said: “I’m gonna be there for her, whatever she needs.”
Wendy Osefo tells the cameras her “first thought” was “Is she ok?” adding: “After that I was shocked. I think we should all be responsible.”
Mia Thornton weighs in: “You can do whatever you want to yourself, endanger yourself. But, don’t endanger society.”
Ashley tells the cameras she “never thought Karen would be a repeat offender with something like this.”
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Karen revealed most of the RHOP ladies “rallied around” her.
However, she explains “a couple” of her co-stars weren’t there for her during the time.
She tells ET: “I expected my friends to rally around me, and many did. But a few did not.”
Karen explains how Gizelle “impressed” her by how supportive she was.
“I expected one person to do that… maybe a couple… but to each his own. I think some people love misery. They’re miserable and they want company.”
Although it appears Gizelle and Karen are getting along well in season 9, Karen “isn’t setting herself up to be the next green-eyed bandit.”
She explains: “Gizelle and I this season, we’re pleasant. I think the viewers will enjoy that. But, I don’t expect it to last because we’re frenemies. That’s what we do best. It is cyclical. But, we’re in a great place right now.”
