Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins welcomes a whole new cast of famous faces. The celebrities are all being tested to the max and put through their paces in series 6. The show also welcomes a newcomer to the team, a “secret weapon” is unveiled in the form of Dr Alia Bojilova, 43.
Channel 4‘s SAS: Who Dares Wins has been running for almost 10 years. The first celebrity spin-off arrived in 2019 and since then, fans have seen many of their favorite famous faces attempt the SAS training course. This year, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins takes place in New Zealand.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ Dr Alia Bojilova
Joining Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins series 6 is Dr Alia Bojilova.
She appears on the all-new series as a helping hand to the celebs.
Dr Alia is described by Channel 4 as a “new weapon in the DS’ arsenal.”
She’s a former Special Forces psychologist “who will provide them with assistance as they attempt to get as many of these celebrities over the line as possible.”
Dr Alia has previously appeared on other TV series including Tracked, which aired in New Zealand. It’s described as a “survival adventure TV series about teams navigating challenges in the bush while being pursued by military combatants,” per Woman Magazine.
In 2013, the doctor was working as a registered psychologist with the New Zealand Army and she was deployed to Syria.
She’s experienced being taken hostage in her career. She recounted the experience, telling James Laughlin on his Lead On Purpose Podcast, that it was “the middle of the night” when she and her colleagues were taken hostage by “38 heavily armed militia.”
Dr Alia Bojilova and ‘resilience’
When it comes to the subject of resilience, Dr Alia is an expert.
It’s something the recruits certainly require appearing on SAS: Who Dares Wins.
Speaking on James Laughlin’s Lead On Purpose Podcast, she explains how she grew up in Bulgaria.
James describes her as one of the “world’s leading experts in resilience.”
The doctor released a book last year, The Resilience Toolkit: A Proven Four-Step Process to Unlock Your True Potential.
Speaking on the subject, she tells the podcast host: “Resilience is not just bouncing back… it’s bouncing forward better than you were before your predicament found you…”
“Growing through all your challenges,” and “continuously growing.”
