Joao Coronel may be one of Too Hot To Handle season 6’s stars but the reality TV star is being labeled ice “cold” as he breaks up with his partner with a song. Joao may be being hailed “pathetic” and “opportunistic” by some social media users, but his band is getting some more recognition these days. Swings and roundabouts, Joao.
Anyone waltzing onto a Netflix show like Too Hot To Handle has got to be prepared for some backlash. But, Joao may not have been prepared for the roasting he got from his retreat co-stars as well as viewers at home. The reality TV star broke up with his partner on the show via a kind-of-backwards-serenade, leaving almost everyone unimpressed.
Too Hot To Handle Joao’s band
Joao is making his Netflix show debut this summer, but his real passion lies outside of the reality TV world.
The Too Hot To Handle star is a musician who has his own band. He’s releasing music in 2024 and has been performing and practicing his guitar skills since he was just a young boy.
He may be putting himself to the ultimate intimacy test during the retreat, but from the sounds of Joao’s songs, he’s no stranger to love and heartbreak.
Joao shares a link in his Instagram bio to his music including songs such as Is Our Time Up.
Fans say Joao’s trying to boost music career
Although Joao tries to convince his co-stars he was deep in his feels about the song he performed on Too Hot To Handle, they didn’t seem to buy it.
Viewers of the show also didn’t seem convinced his intentions were genuine, either, as many take to X (Twitter) to say they think he’s “opportunistic” and took the moment to “boost his music career.”
During Too Hot To Handle, Joao decided to break things off with his partner, Flavia Laos, by singing her a song and playing his guitar.
Joao was labeled a “savage” by his co-stars when they heard the song he performed for Flavia.
Charlie Jeer said he was “cold” and asked him, in total shock: “You played her that and then deaded it off?”
The scene not only left his fellow cast members in disbelief, but fans at home tweeted: “…you could’ve just said it’s over,” and others asked how Flavia “kept a straight face” while he performed.
Upon realizing Joao’s songs are now on streaming services, more fans tweet: “How is my entire timeline not filled with people posting about how Joao released the song?”
His debut EP, My Heart’s Eulogy, features five songs, Falling 4 U, Is Our Time Up, Time & Time Again, Let Go, and Paint My Walls Red.
