As America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders arrives on Netflix this summer, there is one cast member in particular who fans are talking about. Charlotte Jones is the executive vice president and chief brand officer of the DCC.
The new Netflix series takes a look at the training process for the women wanting to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. As some viewers express their surprise at the squad’s $12 an hour wages, DCC boss, Charlotte, says the cheerleaders “aren’t there for the money.”
DCC Charlotte Jones’ net worth
Charlotte Jones is one of the biggest female executives in the sporting field and her net worth goes to prove it, per Celebrity Net Worth, she has an estimated $100 million in the bank.
“She’s worked in the Cowboys’ executive office since 1989 when her father became the owner,” writes Diario AS.
Charlotte is the daughter of billionaire and NFL’s Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones.

The 81-year-old reportedly has a net worth of $13 billion, per Celebrity Net Worth.
Charlotte says cheerleaders aren’t there for money
After the America’s Sweetheart episodes dropped, fans began weighing in on the fact the cheerleaders receive pretty low pay.
As the women put it all on the line during their training, they explain they earn about as much as a fast food restaurant worker, approximately $12 per hour.
Many viewers of the series were outraged by the girls’ wages.
But, DCC boss Charlotte says: “There’s a lot of cynicism around pay for NFL cheerleaders, as there should be. They’re not paid a lot. But the facts are that they actually don’t come here for the money. They come here for something that’s actually bigger than that to them,” via Sports Illustrated.
Charlotte has received backlash for being “apathetic” when it comes to making decisions related to the squad.
Taking to a Reddit thread, one fan defends Charlotte:
“There were a lot of critical comments directed at Charlotte, especially with her apathetic attitude towards the final cuts… But people need to remember she is not a choreographer, coach etc and does not have a special day-to-day relationship with these girls; she is accountable to the Franchise. She is to make business decisions. She needs to go back to the shareholders and explain why it is necessary to keep 37 girls instead of cutting down to 36.”
However, many also took to X (Twitter) unimpressed: “Charlotte Jones acknowledging and validating #AmericasSweethearts low pay because it’s a ‘dream’ to even make the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders team is so gross. Y’all should be lifting women up. Not perpetuating the cycle.”
