Since making his 90 Day Fiancé debut, Robert Warne has received a whole lot of backlash for his lifestyle. Thirty-two-year-old Rob is on the road to marriage with his 23-year-old girlfriend, Sophie Sierra. As season 10 plays out, he gets “real” with his social media followers, defending his car and apartment seen on the show.
90 Day Fiancé stars Rob and Sophie are busy navigating potential red flags in their long-distance relationship during the TLC show. The two face some hurdles when it comes to eventually walking down the aisle, as Sophie’s left unimpressed by his apartment and her mother doesn’t approve.
Sophie’s not keen on Robert’s apartment
During 90 Day Fiancé season 10, Rob invites Sophie to his humble abode. But, the warm welcome wasn’t quite what she expected after moving to LA from London.
Brit Sophie had been talking to her beau, who lives in Inglewood, California, every day for almost three years.
Things got off to a good start for the two, although Sophie couldn’t hide her feelings about Rob’s home.
Some people took to X (Twitter) to agree with Sophie that Rob’s “outdoor bathroom” was less than ideal. More harsh critics dubbed Rob “no job Rob,” but he says he’s a “jack-of-all-trades.”
The TLC star confirmed on the show he was working at Cap’s Service and Repair in Austin, Texas, as well as taking up jobs in acting and modeling.
90 Day Fiancé star defends lifestyle
Taking to Instagram on Friday, January 13, Rob explained to his followers he’s “not going to fake it,” and shared his thoughts on the “broke” criticism coming his way since appearing on reality TV.
Rob said: “Between my car, my apartment, my finances… everything I do has a purpose.”
He added: “The car was the perfect car for LA, and I actually really like that car. But it’s a good car for that type of city.”
Speaking on his apartment, Rob admitted it was “sh****.” But he continued to say it “served a purpose” and he had a pitbull to look after at the time.
He needed to find somewhere to live “within a week,” and decided to take it when it became available, adding: “It is what it is.”
Rob no longer lives in the apartment seen on the TLC show and “life has gotten a lot better since then.”
Robert ‘wants to do better’
90 Day Fiancé star Rob shares he’s already improved his finances.
He was “already working on himself and his attitude,” and said being on the show has inspired him to want to “do better.”
Rob added he’ll “always be true to himself,” and during the show, he “wasn’t going to walk into a jewelry store and try and buy a $10,000 ring he couldn’t afford.”
