Mona Kattan is the season 2 newbie of Dubai Bling but her beauty empire proves she’s the most successful cast member of them all – she was age 28 when her business exploded onto the scene.
Despite Mona Kattan being a new face on Dubai Bling, the entrepreneur has been part of the social circle for years. Netflix cameras document Mona’s marriage with her husband, Hassan Elamin, and her brand’s new beginnings.
Dubai Bling: Mona Kattan’s age and billion-dollar brand
Born May 8, 1985, Mona Monica Kattan is 38 years old, making her one of the oldest female cast members of Dubai Bling. Although she’s built her life in the modern metropolis, Kattan was reportedly born in Oklahoma, USA, to Iraqi parents. Her family relocated to the UAE in 2003, along with her sisters Huda and Alya.
Kattan graduated with a finance degree from the American University of Sharjah in 2008 and went on to work as a financial analyst before joining forces with her sisters, Huda and Alya, in 2013 to co-found Huda Beauty. Mona claims the beauty brand was valued at $1.2 billion within four years. Forbes estimates their 2020 annual sales hit $250 million.
The makeup mogul branched out into her own venture in 2017: Kayali Fragrances. The brand name translates to My Imagination in Arabic.
Her age difference with husband Hassan Elamin
Kattan tied the knot with husband Hassan Elamin on February 22, 2022 after a whirlwind romance. They began dating January 2021 but their love story has been two decades in the making. The couple were linked through family as Hassan’s sister attended university with Mona and the future pair had been Facebook friends for years.
Elamin graduated with a masters in insurance and risk management from Bayes Business School, London.
His exact age is unclear but online reports estimate him to be around age 38 to 40 years old, meaning he has a maximum two-year age difference with Mona.
Inside Mona’s relationship with ex-boyfriend
While we can’t get enough of Mona and Hassan’s romance, Reality Titbit investigated Mona’s dating history and discovered she was engaged to her then-boyfriend, Dominic Nowell-Barnes. Nowell-Barnes is the founder and CEO of Dubai-based streetwear brand The Giving Movement. Originally from Leeds, UK, he had moved to Dubai just two years before meeting Mona and he converted to Islam early in the relationship after meeting on Tinder.
The couple were engaged in April 2019 but quietly separated in late 2020.
