Rita Ora sued by her former manager in £3million legal battle over missing tour and TV cash

Rita Ora is said to be locked in a huge legal battle, as her former manager has sued her for more than £3million. Ora was signed by her former manager Sarah Stennett back in 2009, but that working relationship has since ended. Now, it’s seemingly turned sour. 

According to The Sun, Rita Ora and her manager Sarah Stennett parted ways, and now Sarah is suing her. The publication has reported Sarah has lodged papers at the High Court, claiming her firm, FAE Ventures, is owed the money after Rita allegedly failed to hand over a cut of her earnings from tours and TV work.

The amount is said to be around the £3.2million mark, with documents claiming Rita violated contract terms by failing to pay the firm’s cut.

The Sun has reported the largest part of the alleged underpayments is for around £1.7million, which the firm has claimed is down to “impermissible deductions” for professional services including advertising, accountancy and insurance. A further £1.1million has been alleged as down to “unreporting touring income” during Ora’s Phoenix World Tour between 2019 and 2020.

Legal documents are reported to claim payments “failed to take account of certain touring income which the defendant had received (or which was received on her behalf) during that period”.

It has also been claimed Ora wasn’t completely honest about her income when she was a judge on reality show The Masked Singer, and that the firm is owed more money from that. The firm was allegedly paid based on “invoices which did not accurately reflect the sums to which the defendant was contractually entitled”.

A source told The Sun: “Sarah and her firm want what they believe is due. It’s sad it has had to come to this.”

Rita Ora is yet to file a defence to the claim, and The Sun contacted Rita’s representatives for comment but had not received a reply by time of publication. The Tab has also reached out to Rita Ora’s management for comment.
