Kris Jenner has become a viral good luck charm in China, and it’s actually hilarious

A bizarre new trend has taken over Chinese social media, and yes, it involves Kris Jenner.

People on platforms like Weibo and RedNote have started posting pictures of the reality TV star as a way of manifesting wealth, success, and good fortune. In just a few days, hundreds of thousands of posts have popped up, with people even swapping their profile pictures for Kris herself in the hope it’ll bring prosperity.

If you somehow don’t know, Kris is the mum of Kim, Khloé, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian, as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and has built a literal empire off managing their fame.

TikTok creator Marcelo Wang helped bring the trend to a wider audience, calling it “super random” in a video explaining what’s going on.

He told people the trend had grown “because Kris Jenner is one of the hardest working businesswomen in the US, and Chinese people really respect hard work”.

And yes, Kris herself has already clocked it. She jumped into the comments of Wang’s video, writing “you’re ALL doing amazing, sweetie!!!!”, a throwback to her iconic line from Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

According to Business Insider, nearly 100,000 posts using her image have already racked up over 52 million views, so clearly, it’s working… maybe?
