After MAFS, Maeve reveals everything about the friendships that carried her through the show

The pics are so wholesome

After leaving MAFS, Maeve has opened up even more about the friendships that carried her through the show, and it sounds like her friends are the reason she stayed in the experiment as long as she did.

When Maeve first joined MAFS, she was all-in on finding love. But after her marriage to Joe fell apart and she was left facing the experiment alone, it was her cast mates who became her real support system.

‘My little love bugs kept me going’

In a candid Instagram Q&A, Maeve admitted just how tough filming was, calling it “one of the hardest, most emotional, and yet most powerful experiences” of her life. But she said the people around her made all the difference.

Posting a pic with her close friends Keye and Davide, she wrote, “My little love bugs kept me going. You don’t understand how hard this experiment is. You would normally ring your friends for advice but instead you have to make bonds with new friends. And this is something I will forever be grateful for. The love and support I received every minute of every day from my squad was unbelievable.”

Honestly, the way she talks about them, it’s giving ride or die.

She said the friendships actually changed her heart

When her final episode aired, Maeve shared an emotional goodbye post about her time on the show, and, notably, didn’t mention Joe at all. Instead, she focused entirely on the people who lifted her up when things got tough.

“I might not be walking away with a husband, but I am walking away with friendships that will last a lifetime,” she wrote. “The people I have met on this journey have completely changed my heart. Every single day I felt love, support, and understanding from the most beautiful souls, my cast, my family for life.”

She added that the bond they built is “something truly special” and that her cast mates helped her remember she was “loved for exactly who I am.”

‘They’ve seen me at my most vulnerable’

Maeve has also spoken about how much she leaned on her MAFS friends during and after filming. In another heartfelt post, she said, “The love and kindness of some truly special people, Keye, Davide, Grace, Bec, Nelly, and Leah, they’ve seen me at my most vulnerable, reminded me of my strength. And they loved me for exactly who I am, flaws, loud laugh, big heart and all.”

She’s since called her co-stars her “family for life”, and she clearly means it. The gang’s been spotted hanging out loads since filming ended, from Thorpe Park trips to London weekends. Maeve even posted, “Honestly, I love these people with every fibre in my body. There’s just something so special about the unbreakable bond we share.”

Maeve might not have found lasting love in the experiment, but she definitely found her people. Through it all, she’s come out stronger. She’s more self-aware, and surrounded by the kind of support that lasts long after the cameras stop rolling.
