The womans reportedly shouted obscene and abusive comments at activists

A woman has been charged in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour towards protesters at a pro-Palestine demonstration in Glasgow.

The 28-year-old has been charged with allegedly shouting obscene and abusive comments at activists taking part in the protest on Saturday 11th October.

The demonstration began at Glasgow Central Station and Buchanan Bus Station before marching to Glasgow Green.

Organisers say it was led by Jim Hickey, one of the four Scottish nationals detained in 2023 after the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla.

Police Scotland has confirmed that a report is to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 28-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour towards people involved in protest activity in Glasgow city centre on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

The protests occurred nationwide, with tens of thousands of people in London gathering a day after a ceasefire came into effect between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

The Metropolitan Police said it had made 14 arrests overall. The offences included breaching supporting a proscribed terrorist group, Public Order Act conditions and affray.
