Steven’s ex exposes him with messy screenshots ‘proving’ he ditched her for MAFS UK

It’s getting really messy

Steven from MAFS UK has had a reasonably calm journey on the series so far, but in real life it’s been messy – and things just got even more chaotic.

His ex-girlfriend, lifestyle influencer Melissa Stacey, has recently exposed all the details of their breakup in a three-part TikTok series that covers everything from how he allegedly “disappeared” on her to go on the show, to how she claims he came crawling back after.

In the first video from the three-part series, Melissa shared the story of how her and Steven got together in the first place. She claimed the pair met through social media.

“He seemed like the nicest guy, he seemed like a great dad, I genuinely fell for this guy,” she said.

“This guy told me that he loved me and that he saw a future with me. We rarely went two or three days without seeing each other.”

Melissa then claimed that Steven started being more distant and his schedule suddenly got really busy as he was preparing for a “new job” he was starting. The week after Valentine’s Day 2025, which Melissa claimed they spent  together, is when she said things really went wrong.

The TikToker shared screenshots of his alleged last message before she claimed he ghosted her for six weeks.

According to Melissa, he messaged her over a month later and apologised for his disappearance, saying he’d been filming. She claimed he said he was filming for a Netflix drama in Greece.

Melissa saiid he called her on a burner phone and said he regretted filming and was thinking about her the whole time. At this point, she said she still thought it was a drama series, and not a dating show, especially not MAFS.

“We continued dating and continued seeing each other, but there was an off feeling, and I ended things ultimately,” the influencer claimed.

Then, two weeks ago, she saw through Instagram that Steven was going to be on MAFS.

“My jaw dropped,” Melissa said.

She claimed she immediately reached out to him over Instagram but was blocked. The influencer then alleged that Steven reached out to her over text.

They went back and forth over text screenshots shared by Melissa, where some big bombs were dropped, including a message apparently from Steven saying: “When you see the person they’ve put me with, it will all make sense.”

She claimed he also said it wasn’t worth losing he to get on the series.

People in the comments are worried for Nelly, Steven’s unproblematic MAFS wife. Whatever happens, the reunion episode is sure to be as dramatic as ever.

Steven has responded to Melissa’s claims, telling The Tab: “Melissa is a lovely girl and yes we dated for a couple of months, but ultimately things did not progress into anything official as I didn’t see a future in us. I then went onto the show to find a wife.”

The Tab has reached out to Channel 4  for comment.
