People close to D4vd share shocking details as police continue to investigate Celeste’s death
The friends believed they were ‘romantically involved’
A lot of new details have come out since the body of California teen Celeste Rivas was found in a Tesla registered to musician D4vd, and now people close to him have spoken publicly about what they saw.
Celeste’s remains, which police described as severely decomposed, were discovered in the front boot of D4vd’s Tesla earlier this month after reports of a “foul odour” from the impounded car. Her family has since held a vigil and called her a “bright and bubbly” teenager.
Although no arrests have been made, the accounts from friends, neighbours, and the homeowner have added new insight into the ongoing case.
Homeowner says lease was broken

Meanwhile, the landlord of the Hollywood Hills home that D4vd had been staying in confirmed to the Daily Mail that the singer and his manager abruptly broke their $20,000-a-month lease just days after the police raid.
Homeowner Mladen Trifunovic explained that the lease had been signed in February 2024, the same month Celeste was first reported missing. He said the decision to move out came quickly after detectives searched the house and took items, including a laptop.
“They are moving out this week, the moving trucks will be here soon. They’ve decided to move out because of the ongoing circumstances. They didn’t want to be there anymore,” Trifunovic said.
Calling the entire situation “very disturbing,” he added, “Like everyone else, I want to know who is responsible for this and how a little girl’s disappearance could slip through so many layers of responsibility.”
Friends describe D4vd and Celeste together

According to TMZ, unnamed friends who partied with both D4vd and Celeste on a number of occasions said they found the discovery of her body “extremely disturbing and confusing.” They described D4vd as “a very gentle person,” and noted that Celeste seemed to copy his behaviour.
“Everything he did in his life, she kind of seemed to follow,” TMZ reporter Charlie Neff relayed on their behalf. The friends also believed Celeste and D4vd were “romantically involved,” even though they did not see public displays of affection.
The same report said friends thought Celeste was a university student, as she often used fake IDs to attend clubs and parties. Police have since confirmed she had a number of fake IDs.
Neighbour recalls ‘quiet’ behaviour

Separately, a neighbour of D4vd’s former Los Angeles rental also shared what he witnessed. Speaking to The Sun, the unnamed man described the pair as quiet. “They were pretty quiet. I never saw police there, and didn’t hear them partying or anything, nothing wild. I was shocked to find out what happened,” he said.
The neighbour recalled regularly seeing Celeste at the house and thought both she and D4vd were much younger. “I last saw them a couple of months ago. I’m not sure, but I thought they were just kids, like a couple [aged] 18/19. I had no idea, it’s crazy,” he added.
He also remembered one specific chat about the Tesla, the same car in which Celeste’s body was later found. “I did ask him about his Tesla, as his car was hit and he never fixed it. He didn’t really say what happened. Any time I tried to talk to them, they weren’t very engaging. They kept to themselves.”
The LAPD has confirmed the raid on the Hollywood Hills property and said that “several items of evidence” were recovered for analysis. Detectives are still following up on leads.
